If you have recently graduated from high school or college and are on your way into the workforce, you've got a lot of important decisions to make — including figuring out your health benefits options — to keep you feeling and looking your best. allaboutthebenefits.com gives you the information you need to make better health benefits choices.

If you're headed straight into the working world, your new employer may offer a benefits package that includes health insurance. More on that later.

If you just can't get enough of learning and you're going to graduate school, check to see if your school has a health plan that you can sign up for. These plans are typically run by the school's health centers or in partnership with private insurers, and they often expire after graduation.

It's likely that there will be a lag time between when your current health insurance ends and your new job's benefits kick in or you start grad school, so be sure to look into temporary insurance options. Click on the Temporary Health Insurance section in the Health Benefits Essentials for options.
